South Plainfield Soccer Association (SPSA) is a great organization for the player interested in having fun while developing his or her soccer skills at a more competitive level. Teams are formed in every age group when possible for players starting at 8 years old.
SPSA participates in the Mid-New Jersey Youth Soccer Association (MNJYSA) (https://www.mnjysa.org/), which is part of the New Jersey Youth Soccer Association (NJYSA) (https://www.njyouthsoccer.com/), and United States Youth Soccer Association (USYSA) (https://www.usyouthsoccer.org/). Players are placed on a team for a year and our teams compete in the Fall (September to mid-November) and Spring (March to mid-June) seasons. There are typically 10 games scheduled each season which are played once a week and usually on Sundays.
Teams are placed in a flight within the league with the goal of having challenging and competitive games. The games are structured to foster growth and development in the players based on age. For example, the players in the under 10 years old age bracket play matches with 7 players on each side in order to encourage more ball handling and involvement in the game. Home games are played at Kenneth Fields, a well-maintained facility right here in South Plainfield. Away games are played in surrounding counties throughout New Jersey.
